Rodeo
| The Halls Creek Rodeo is a three day event held in July each year at the rodeo grounds on the Duncan Highway on the edge of town. This is a major event on the Halls Creek social calendar bringing together people from cattle stations, Aboriginal communities and nearby townships. Expect wild action, thrills and spills, apprehensive riders, oversized hats and lots of dust. There is a full program of riding events including the steer, bull and bareback ride and camp drafting. There is a mini stampede gymkhana for the kids and an outback colt challenge that allows local stockmen and women to exhibit their horse handling skills. A unique event is the Saddle Bronc, where riders use a saddle especially designed to allow lots of leg action. For more information on the Halls Creek rodeo call (08) 9168 8901. |
