Warmun

Warmun, also known as Turkey Creek, is an Aboriginal community of about 500 people. The residents are predominantly Kija people.

Turkey Creek was originally a watering point on the track linking Halls Creek with the Port of Wyndham.  Later it became a government feeding station for Aboriginal people, before later being developed into the established Aboriginal community of Warmun.

Warmun boasts an impressive art centre open to the public.

The Turkey Creek Roadhouse offers fuel, meals and accommodation. It is located on the Great Northern Highway.
